Ox provides arguably the best steaks in Santiago and more. The fine streak house experience, most of us one percenters are more than familiar with it. Is it overplayed? Should we start worrying more about cholesterol and heart disease? I say we might as well live it up until the fat lady sings.
Ox provides one of the best steak house experiences you can find in Santiago. A substantial selection of masterful steaks, appetizers, and elegant wines await you in this modern setting. Service and prestige are of the upmost importance, so try not to show up in your gym shorts.
Lets start with the “Lollypop Shrimp”, a tasty and stylish app made from a shrimp dumpling composite, seated on a base of tiny French fries with a mild sweet orange cream sauce. A nice dish with an excellent composition and contrast between flavors and textures.
If you’ve made it this far on your gastronomic journey, then you probably know what “Foie Gras” is. This rendition of the decedent goose liver is served almost as a dessert, with brioche bread, quince fruit, and a cinnamon honey sauce that includes calafate berries. The dish is a complex symphony of sweet and savory that demands your attention. Do yourself a favor and splurge on this thoughtfully priced app.

Although the fine steak house Ox specializes in, obviously the best steaks in Santiago, they also have a very nice seafood pasta with Chilean abalone, king crab, and shrimp. The fresh seafood and thick noodles are complimented by a brandy butter sauce with parmesan, providing an excellent infusion of flavors.
Other options include a premium burger ground with blue cheese and foie gras, served on a nice soft bun with caramelized onions. It may look like a burger, but believe me its much more than that.
Finally we get to the steaks. The tender loin is a solid choice for those who desire a nice big chunk of meat, bone in. This cut has a slight hint of nutty flavor that comes from the included bone.
Next is the Ribeye, a buttery cut of a classic steak. This version is well crisped on the outside with just the right amount of fat to meat ratio. Savory and well rounded with a compliment of fresh rosemary.
Lastly we have the showstopper, an immaculate cut of Wagyu. All the steaks served were truly delicious, but this cut of meat takes the cake, with the marbling and fatty taste providing a more than satisfactory experience. Just cutting into the steak was like cutting into butter.
Steak house Ox has offerings of fine wine, seafood, and innovative dishes, but whats important is they offer the best steaks in Santiago. The level of attention and care is top notch, making sure you feel welcome and leave satisfied. Take advantage of the experience, as theres few like it.
