If your downtown and close to metro station Universidad de Chile, then consider Quijote as one of the only options. This delicious Chilean restaurant, cafe, and bar is chok full of reasonably priced dishes. You’ll find everything from a very special chilean sandwich to nice seafood and meat options.
I would say that with everything available at Quijote, this is an all purpose restaurant that could be useful for a couple drinks or a business lunch alike.
Lets start with a brilliant “Chorillana Quijote.” This rendition of the ultimate Chilean drunk food includes rustic fries with caramelized red onions and the normal fried eggs, whats different is a unique tomato cream sauce that mixes perfectly with the app.
Another good app is the “Tartar de Pulpo y Atún”, a colorful Tartar with a mix of octopus and tuna. This dish provides a good texture and a refreshing avocado dressing thats sure to please.

There’s some great dishes available at the delicious Chilean restaurant El Quijote. One of them is the “Plateada” plate with slow cooked flat steak, a fresh tomato onion salad, and a creamy pastalera corn mash. This is a well balanced dish that provides a hearty meat with contrasting sides.
The “Pulpo Rustico” is a seared octopus with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies. A great combination of flavors that feature a sweet and savory sauce for the well textured octopus.
Finally we get to a very special sandwich, the “Chilenazo.” This is an excellent example of an evocative churrasco with an amazing sopaipilla substitute for buns. The combination of the fried sopaipillas and the churrasco with cheese, avocado, and so on is to die for. Enjoy it with a beer and your good to go!
The delicious Chilean restaurant Quijote has a lot to offer other than being a nice location in a fairly scarce part of Santiago. It’s a great place for lunch and offers some tasty dishes with a good price. Also do yourself a favor and try some of their addictive desserts, trust me.
