If you need a simple lunch or breakfast then put Eric Kayser on your list. Other than offering a French Cafe and Bakery, the selections from a Chilean influenced menu complete the package.
This is somewhat of a world wide chain, but whats important is the location has the quietest terrace in the Santiago financial district. A great option for a business meeting or simply a meditative lunch.
| The Tasty Lunch
We start with a “Tartar de Salmon” with capers, avocado, fresh greens, and a French whole grain mustard. The protein is a quality smoked salmon which mixes nicely with the grain bread and added ingredients.
I would consider the “Ensalada Caesar” as I find it hard to get a good salad in Chile. It’s nothing mind blowing, but you get a big portion of fresh lettuce with croutons, tomatoes, bacon bits, and seasoned chicken.
The “Mechada Kayser” is for those that want something a little more hearty. This is a pulled beef sandwich with an acidic tomato sauce served on a soft bun with cheddar cheese and mushrooms. A nice cheesy potato side is also included.
Finally we have the “Panqueque de Pollo” wich is similar to that of a pot pie with baked cheese, chicken, and mushrooms. Definitely a creamy and homey dish thats sure to please.
Eric Kayser has a selection of classy pastries that any French cafe and bakery should carry. An orange peel cream cake offers the complexity of bitter orange and thick cream with a pleasing texture, while a dark chocolate tiramisu offers a traditional compliment with a cappuccino or late.
Other than being one of if not the only French Cafe and Bakery in Providencia, Eric Kayser is a nice place to relax and drink a coffee of your choosing. Enjoy this experience with their tasty baked goods and dishes and you’ll find your lunch or breakfast complete.
